The Ultimate Down the TBR Hole: Let’s go through literally every book on my to-read shelf

If you were ever to find yourself in a situation in which you were obliged to describe me in one word, your answer should come with ease:

Extra.

I have 135 books on my to-read shelf, and I own 92 of them. This means, in other words, that I am “f*cking awesome” and “extremely organized” and “definitely very much in control of my life.”

This should also mean that I don’t really need to purge my shelves that much. I could feasibly read those 134 books in this year alone. BUT SOME OF THEM HAVE BEEN ON MY SHELVES FOR A BAJILLION YEARS AND I’M SICK OF IT OKAY.

Also I love reading other people’s Down the TBR Holes and I must take everything I appreciate and/or enjoy for myself. Duh.

So let’s do this. The Down the TBR Hole to RULE THEM ALL.

From oldest book still on my shelves to newest. With, like, author and date added and whether I own it and stuff.

IT’LL BE FUN OKAY. JUST HAVE FUN. PLEASE. God.

Sounds like you got rid of a hefty amount. The Wife Between Us is soooo good. I got it from a GR giveaway.
I had a bunch of books I was going to comment on but then I forgot as I scrolled down. lol. But this was hella fun to read.
What will you do with the books that you got rid of on your tbr that you own?

i love classics but i almost never read them (bc i have no clue of my own interests), so that’s why there’s so many!!

ugh sorry to hear about daughter of smoke and bone 😦 i hate when that happens.

Apparently for Sally Thorne’s 99 Percent Mine it is actually a completely different book. The Comfort Zone has indefinitely been scraped. But I’m right with you, I’ll take anything I can get!

it’s not like im-going-to-pull-my-eyeballs-out-with-my-fingers kind of bad but its more like so-much-lost-ponential-on-alpha-males type of bad

    ooooh so many thoughts!

    1) I tried to read Emma last year (out of a somewhat narcissistic desire to read about a name twin) and I just couldn’t get into it :///
    2) I read station eleven two years ago and remember it being v strange but v good
    3) a thousand splendid suns is fantastic
    4) please don’t hate a conjuring of light or nevernight, my heart can’t take it
    5) one of my most unpopular opinions is that daughter of smoke and bone is a boring, instalovey piece of shit

i am definitely going to hate a conjuring of light but i will try not to hate nevernight?? jane austen is my fave ever so if i don’t like emma i’ll die

      • Emma says:

hmmm emma was decent-ish? I really liked emma herself but all the other characters were boring and annoying

nevernight is definitely a love it or hate it kinda thing, and I think it mainly comes down to the writing style? it’s super unique so if you aren’t into it it’s prob best to dnf

HEYYYY ME!! I SPY ME. OMG. I’M HONOURED AND WILL FLAP AROUND A BIT NOW. (I’m totally a professional author here yes I fit in just fine with the sensible crowd.) But omg I laughed a lot reading this, you’re hilarious.😂 And like obviously A Thousand Perfect Notes is going to be the most perfect (lmao yes hit me I couldn’t resist) read of the year bUT ALSO I’m excited for ones like The Hazel Wood!! I also didn’t really like Ember in the Ashes so don’t blame you for kicking that one. Also there are so many classics here, well done.😂

I’M SO EXCITED FOR YOUR BOOK???? the least you could do is develop the ability to control time so the wait is a little shorter plz and thanks. also only reason there are so many classics is because i haven’t read them yet 😳

Did you know Love and Freindship was written as a satire at the age of 14 or something?
I guess they knew ol’ Jane was a genius pretty early on!
